China has hit back at the US after President Barack Obama promised to take a tougher line with Beijing over currency and trade. What is the future for US-China relations?
Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu said the value of the Chinese yuan was not the main reason for their trade surplus with the US, as Mr Obama vowed to stop countries gaining an unfair advantage against the dollar.
The row adds to a recent spate of disagreements between the two countries following a US arms deal with Taiwan, reports of Chinese cyber attacks on US-run websites and a planned visit to the US by the Dalai Lama.

如果中国说的可信，那么台湾，西藏，蒙古，朝鲜，韩国，尼泊尔，不丹，（印度的）Arunachal邦（藏南），俄罗斯的一部分地区，甚至日本都是属于中国的。

USA is indeed a fantastic country!In their search for lowest possible labor prices with little or no labor rights the global MNCs hit upon the mantra of globalization!
China with an autocratic government was a perfect destination for MNCs but disastrous for US citizens as hundreds of thousands of jobs were transferred to China.
Corporate powers led to this situation and the President has to correct it or reverse it!!

美国实在是个不可思议的国家。

The US owes the chinese government around 1 trillion dollars. If China takes any kind of economic sanctions or threats against the US, the dollar will lose value, and the Chinese will begin to lose money on the debt.
So despite the rhetoric from both sides China And the US are locked together, mutually dependant, for the forseeable future at least.

中美关系需要修补吗？目前的关系破坏都是表面的。
美国欠中国一万亿美元，如果中国对美国实施一点经济制裁或者威胁美国，美元就会失去它的价值，中国也同时因为债务贬值而受到损失。
所以，他们两边夸夸其谈没有什么，中国和美国锁在一块儿了，互相依赖，至少在可见的将来不会有什么问题。
If China want to be accepted then stop all the threats. So what if the Dalai lama wants to visit and speak to Obama. Since when does China dictate who speaks to who? Look at the arms deal with Taiwan. China has no right to talk as they are a huge arms dealer. 家园 永远不要指望西方能够容忍中国 NEVER AND FOR EVER.
只要不发生冲突，就是最成功。至于理解、容忍、尊重这些，很困难。
家园 给你挑个翻译的毛病。 在英语中说：
“What is it with X and Y”的时候，常常有“X和Y到底怎么回事儿啊，怎么老扯上关系啊。”这样的意思。通常指两者间有些比较特别的关系或联系。
比如说，
如果你听到别人说：“What is it with Alan and Asian Girls!”就可以推测出这位叫Alan的同志不是特别喜欢亚洲女性就是特别讨厌亚洲女性，而且常常闹出些出位的事。
因此你翻译那句
“What is it with Communism and paranoia?”
时，结合上文的意思，更贴切的翻译应该是
“共产主义国家怎么老是这么神经兮兮的啊？”

统战工作要继续做，但是对西方民众，特别是英美系的。有什么不切实际的幻想就免了。
