瑞典皇家学院11日宣布，美国经济学家彼得·戴蒙德(Peter A. Diamond)、莫特森(Dale T. Mortensen)，英裔、塞浦路斯籍经济学家克里斯托弗·皮萨里德斯(Christopher A. Pissarides)三位学者共同获得2010年诺贝尔经济学奖。
2010年诺贝尔经济学纪念奖得主是三位劳动力经济学家。
诺贝尔经济学奖由瑞典皇家科学院院士组成的评委会评定，评委会包括5名到8名成员。每年评委会从世界各地收到的诺贝尔经济学奖提名有200个到300个。在经过资格确认、初选、复选后，评选结果在每年10月的一个星期一公布。
诺贝尔经济学奖可以颁发给单个人，也可以最多由三人分享，其主要目的是表彰获奖者在宏观经济学、微观经济学、新的经济分析方法等领域所作的贡献。
10月11日晚间消息，总部位于瑞典斯德哥尔摩的瑞典皇家科学院今日宣布，麻省理工大学的彼特-戴蒙德(Peter Diamond)、伦敦政治经济学院克里斯托弗-迪萨里迪斯(Christopher A. Pissarides)、美国西北大学戴尔-莫滕森(Dale. T NORTENSEN)获得2010年诺贝尔经济学奖。
瑞典皇家科学院表示，他们对市场的分析使其可以得到这个奖项。“市场大部分交易都是为贸易而进行的，当然会出现一些贸易摩擦，买者很难得到想要买的买品，而卖者很难找到消费者。在劳动力市场上许多公司也发现会有许多工作空缺，而一些失业人员找不到适合的工作岗位。”

接下来将会介绍各位主要的理论成果，市场大部分交易都是为贸易而进行的，当然会出现一些贸易摩擦，买者很难得到想要买的买品，而卖者很难找到消费者。

关于理论更加详细的介绍。这种搜寻的冲突指的是买者和卖者之间在互相需求彼此之间所需要的时间和精力，这是至关重要的，尤其是没有经过标准化的产品和服务，最重要的一个例子就是劳动力市场，因为劳动力的类别是各有不同的。
所以，工作者要找到适合自己的工作岗位，而雇佣者要找到适合自己的员工。市场是如何来工作的呢？因为它面对着一个搜寻的冲突。市场研究的初期在传统的理论分析认为，市场上是不存在这种互相寻求的冲突的，传统的市场理论认为价格调整可以改变供求平衡，而在劳动力市场上事情并不是这么简单的。在市场而言，有失业的同时也有一些是缺少工作人员的。
这张图可以显现出来美国的工作广为空缺，以及和失业人员之间的比例关系。比如2000年失业率是4%，而工作岗位或缺率也达到4%，在此后的十年中，这种失业率也在快速的增加。而空缺率则在降低。
如何解释这些？我们的获奖者的研究就解决了这些问题。首先是价格和劳动者的质量有何作用。第二，政府的干预政策能不能使市场更为有效的运作。
如果我们要认真来了解一些什么东西决定失业率，我们需要看一下劳动力市场的政策。戴蒙德回答了一个普遍的问题，他分析了价格和供应量的关系。20世纪70年代他就已经表明很多很小的搜寻成本可以带来很大的影响。
两位美国的经济学大师，由在美国的河友介绍。我重点讲讲皮萨里德斯先生。
克里斯托弗·皮萨里德斯先生是LSE和英国最伟大的经济学家之一。也是小虎所在学派中最值得尊重的长辈。
现在, 四十年勤勤恳恳磨一剑的克里斯托弗·皮萨里德斯先生成为世界级的经济学大师，是LSE的骄傲，是英国经济学界的骄傲，是所有经济学人尤其是劳动力经济学人的骄傲。
作为曾经在皮萨里德斯先生手下工作的普通研究员，我们都知道他得奖是迟早的事情，这样的天才人物和勤奋的科学研究者必然会摘得这个桂冠。
其实，早在2008年，当时在为皮萨里德斯先生做研究助理的一个希腊师弟就告诉我，他已经进了最后5人的SHORT LIST。不过，金融危机爆发，当年的奖给了夸夸其谈的PAUL KRUGMAN。
我们都感到很遗憾。
不过，George J. Stigler比他的同学Milton Friedman多等了7年才得到这个奖。
瘦瘦的皮萨里德斯先生身体很好，多等等更加名至实归。
好事终究多磨。皮萨里德斯先生等到了这一天。在这一点上，他比很多人（比如说MINCER先生）都要幸运。
克里斯托弗·皮萨里德斯对我的研究工作帮助很大。
大概10年前，我的研究工作受到重大挫折，被迫退出公共经济学国际经济学领域。
主要原因是WB的一位资深经济学家,用虚假的数据和无效的方法在AER和EJ上抢先发表了类似的研究。虽然MIT的超级大师兄DARON算间接给我报了仇，但是当时对我的打击是致命的。
有一年时间，我象一条无家可归的流浪狗一样在校园里游荡，不知道该干什么。
后来，老导师可能是怕我寻短见就让我做一个冷门的课题。这个领域开始于1980年左右，可是到现在研究者也不会超过100人。我这个人的好处就是喜欢数据，这个领域没人做其实就是数据处理太难。
结果，我吭吃吭吃地干了两年，根本就没人理，整个大学都当没我这个人存在。起得比鸡早，睡得比鸡晚，经常在办公室干到半夜，回家的路上遇到黄鼠狼，狐狸，果子狸，野狗什么的。
突然有一天，老导师跑过来说，CHRIS知道了你的研究，认为这是他MISMATCH理论模型最重要的实证研究。他要引用你的结果。
我不在意的说，哪个CHRIS？
就是那个CHRIS，还有哪个CHRIS。这个世界上难道还有一个CHRIS要得诺奖吗？
老导师勃然大怒，CHRIS是他的大师兄，也是劳动力经济学的老祖宗，而我却说从来没听说过。
你到底是不是搞经济学的，你到底是不是搞劳动力经济学的。老导师满脸痛红，敲着桌子大吼。
后面是定格了的，张着大嘴的我。
啊，这个，这个，我还以为是隔壁金融系那个胖妞CHRIS。
这一定格就到了2005年，皮萨里德斯先生被IZA授予大奖，又向NOBEL挺进了一步。
得到CHRIS的提携，小虎的名字终于变成了铅字，和那些顶级经济学刊物有了联系。
现在小虎的“荣华富贵”一大半是来自那几篇文章，而这几篇小文章无非是皮萨里德斯先生在他的百忙之中关注到了一个绝望的中国学生，关注了他的工作和努力，在他痛苦不堪的时候给了他一些鼓励和帮助。
我们这些小研究员们都得到过皮萨里德斯先生直接或间接的帮助，包括上文中那个有三个孩子,博士读了七年的希腊师弟。那是另一个故事。
皮萨里德斯先生作为一个塞浦路斯人，当然知道国家动荡南北分治中小民的痛苦，所以他会关心我们这些背景不是很好的学生，尤其是来自发展中国家的,不那么聪明的弱势学生。
而他以解决失业问题为终身学术追求也是一种必然。
我不想评价皮萨里德斯先生的学术，诺贝尔奖已经说明了一切。我想说的是，一个学者除了学术以外，最重要的是他的品行，尤其是对于弱者的态度。而这一点才是最让人感动的地方。
大哉，LSE！大哉，经济学！

从美国失业率重新达到10%可知，这些结论只是重复了人们的一般常识，对改善就业并无帮助。。
和讨论的医学方法一样，外行只接受科研的成果。经济学的成果是对经济制度的改善。

我们有经济学，我们有失业；
失业？
都是花里胡哨的常识。
但是在他们以前（凯恩斯主义）经济学家考虑失业问题时，都认为失业是市场失灵的表现，劳动的总供给大于总需求，但是由于工资价格的粘性，市场不能出清，导致失业。这几个人注意到，工人失业寻找工作，企业有空位子找人来补缺，这两者在市场上是同时出现的。老的凯恩斯主义的模型是没法解释。而他们的searching and matching模型可以解释市场完美运行下的失业，因此受到fresh water宏观的高度重视。最近30年宏观经济学对劳动市场的研究，基本上都是根据这个模型。在经验研究里，经济学家用数据来估计这个模型及其各种延伸的参数，用来解释美国及欧洲在过去几十年失业率的长期变化，以及为什么欧洲的失业率远远高于美国。根据这些参数的估计我们还可以预测各种政策变化对失业率的影响，比如最低工资的增加，收入税的增加，新的法规增加雇主解雇的难度等等，给政策决定提供指导。因此他们的工作并不仅仅是常识。
这个模型在解释长期失业率的变化上还是比较成功的。但是在解释短期失业率的变化上比较失败。比如美国的失业率在短时间内，由5%猛增到10%，而且一直在10%的水平上居高不下。要解释这一点，这个模型必须加进一些很不现实的假设。因此在解决现在美国高失业问题政策建议上，这个模型还是无能为力。
这3个得奖的人中，Peter Diamond的成就要高于Mortensen和Pissarides。他的工作还包括发展了Overlapping Generation Model，证明在这个模型中，经济可能处于dynamic inefficiency的结果。他还同James Mirrelees合作研究最优税收的问题。他的关于银行挤兑的模型，一直到现在都是研究金融危机的基础和出发点。因此很早以前许多人就觉得他应该得诺贝尔奖。他今年得奖Economist网站的说法是可能由于美国现在面临的失业问题。奖励他们的研究来表现经济学同现实的密切关系。但是我还看到另一种说法。2个月前，Obama任命Diamond为美国联邦储备委员会的成员。但是遭到了参议院共和党的强烈反对，在参议院的委员会给否掉了。他们的理由是Diamond是incompetent,一生都是在大学搞研究，没有政策的实践经验。真正的原因我觉得是Diamond是美国的社保系统的坚定支持者。而社保系统一直是共和党右翼的眼中钉（共和党现在也只剩了右翼，没有左翼了），把它比作Ponzi Scheme。因此自然看Diamond不顺眼。因此，瑞典皇家学院这一次可能是故意共和党难堪。象这几年给Gore, Krugman, Obama颁奖一样，影响美国的国内政治。不管这个说法是不是真的，民主党已经开始利用Diamond得奖试图在政治上得分，参议院Banking Committe主席Christopher Dodd刚刚宣布，11月中期选举结束后，他会召开会议，重新讨论Diamond的任命问题。
