家园 美国改变对格鲁吉亚立场 重新审议美俄关系 俄塔斯社9月3日转载美国《华盛顿时报》的报道称，美国国务院负责欧洲和欧亚事务的助理国务卿丹尼尔·弗里德日前承认，格鲁吉亚侵犯南奥塞梯是个“错误”。
他说，不论格鲁吉亚领导人为自己的行为举出什么理由辩解，都不能说明该决定是理智的。
弗里德说，美国政府正在重新考虑与俄罗斯合作计划，包括军事路线方面，但这一进程不会以考虑如何制裁俄罗斯为开始。他说，赖斯在冲突爆发初期就要求其手下在做决定时务必考虑其对美国新政府在美俄关系问题上可能带来的影响。

"The Georgian case is basically, ‘Look, our people were attacked, our villages were being shelled, we’d been subjected to months of provocations from the Russians,’ and that’s basically true. But that doesn’t mean that their decision was a wise one," he said.
He confirmed that the Bush administration has ordered a review of U.S. defense cooperation programs with Russia but is not about to draw up "mindless lists" of penalties that could alienate the Russian people while leaving Moscow’s troops in Georgia.
