国内人的逻辑论证一直有问题。北美人相信经济人理论，所以最忌讳conflicts of interests。存在conflicts of interests，个别官员可以反应出高风亮节，but we can not expect that from the majority. The nation is in the hand of the MAJORITY, not in one or two highly ethical ones.

BTW, 北美人 when they draw conclusion, the first question is on data and sample: ONE EXTREME CASE can not be used as the base for GENERALIZATION TO the whole group of people. That's common sense here.
