EARNINGS: 04/15/2009

STATUS: Test 200 day SMA. CCK is in packaging and it has set up a nice pattern, breaking higher over the 200 day (21.83) Tuesday after spending a couple of weeks bumping that level. Broke through and moved laterally to end last week. That puts Crown in good position to continue the break higher as the new week gets underway. Nice test of the 200 day and plenty of room overhead to make the run.

STATUS: Test breakout. Looking at CTRP again after exiting last week as a precaution. It ended up holding the 18 day EMA (26.74) and bouncing Thursday on strong volume and then holding the move Friday on light trade. The 10 day EMA (27.77) has moved up right below it and we are looking for that to send CTRP on a new trip back upside.

EARNINGS: 03/17/2009

STATUS: Test breakout. FDS surged from mid-March and its earnings, breaking out from a 7 month double bottom. It cleared the 200 day SMA (47.32) resistance on the move, rallying to some resistance at 50. It has tested back, holding the 10 day EMA (46.92) on the Thursday low before rebounding on strong volume. Showed the same action Friday. Nice test tapping at the hump in the middle of the pattern and looking for the rebound to give us an entry point. Plenty of room upside to run.

STATUS: Cup w/handle/handle. INT has set up a nice 13 week base using its 200 day SMA (27.80) as support on the low. This is its first base after rallying off its bear market low in October. Very solid pattern ready to break a 2+ year downtrend when it makes the breakout move. Very nice.

STATUS: Test 200 day SMA. Took some modest gain off the table last week on LIFE as a precaution, but it ended up holding the line quite nicely at the 200 day (32.13) after breaking over that level about a week and a half back. Nice tight lateral move is setting up the next run. Need to see volume jump as LIFE makes the jump.

EARNINGS: 04/02/2009

STATUS: Double bottom w/handle. SCHN broke sharply higher Thursday on strong volume, making the breakout from its 9 week double bottom with handle base. Excellent breakout but then Thursday it gapped lower, holding the 50 day SMA on the low (33.95) and rebounding to cut the loss. A hiccup in a very good pattern for a very good stock and it is going to give us a good entry point. Looking for a bounce right back up to give us the buy.
