I think Ren was just using some Euphemism by putting ‘wei ci’ there. Or a sort of understatement, if you will.
As far as his article stands I think he is on the same page with you (and me) --- he takes a dim view to that ZT article.
I’m not 100% in agreement with his article (esp. the part about Christianity), but overall I’m fine with it.
