This drawing was part of a De Stijl exhibition in Paris in 1923 that resulted in the popular breakthrough of axonometry in the West. Today, axonometry is an indispensable tool for architects, engineers and graphic designers. Van Doesburg referred to this projection as axonometric. More specifically it is isometric.
