其实这类问题最好的老师就是“Google”。我遇到问题的时候，第一个咨询的就是“Google”。

我刚刚Google了一下，发现有些人有类似的问题。大部分是在升级的时候出现的。这里有一个不很详细的解答，不知道是否管用。

I had this problem too. Might have run some cleansing utility to remove  
  
dormant installers in C:\WINDOWS.  
  
My solution  
  
But I simply edit the registry, to let the new messenger installer that  
  
I had no longer having the older version of messenger.  
  
The Registry key is located at  
  
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Installer\Products\C838BEBA7A1AD5C47B1EB83441062050  
  
for Messenger 6.2 (I need to remove it to install MSN Messenger 7 beta)  
  
Just simply scroll up or down to locate the version of MSN Messenger  
  
you need to remove the whole key folder.
