The mother of British businessman Neil Heywood told the Daily Telegraph her son died of a heart attack. Speaking from her home in Streatham, south London, Anne said:

“My son died of a heart attack. I don't know why there's all these rumours. But I don't want to say anything else.”

Hi sister, Leonie, who lives in Tooting, made a similar comment.

“My brother died four months ago. He died of a heart attack. I don't have any comment.”

Heywood's mother: He died of a heart attack

He was not a heavy drinker, but was a chain smoker. His father, Peter, also died of a heart attack after drinks over dinner at his London home in 2004 at age 63, the family members said.

“He was entirely unconcerned. He was very happy. He was not living in fear. The last time I saw him, just before he tragically died, he was on top form. He was very discreet but still managed to be highly entertaining company,”

Heywood seemed 'very happy' days before he died

"We requested the cremation. We were not forced to do so. We have no doubts about the police report," said one family member.
